Minden to open season at North DeSoto

Crimson Tide to take on Griffins

The Minden Crimson Tide will open their 2011 football season on the road in Stonewall Friday night as they take on the North DeSoto Griffins.

The Tide will be trying to erase the memories of last week's Jam at the Joe, where Calvary beat them 48-0.

"I think we've had a really good week of practice," Tide head coach Randy Peters said. "I think the kids are really wanting to come out and prove that they are a better team than we showed last week. I think Calvary just jumped on us early, and it just steamrolled on us. If you had called me the night before and told me we would play like that, I wouldn't have believed you. We didn't see that in practice all week."
