Fire Damages Property in South Webster

Fire Damages Property in South Webster

Early Thursday afternoon Dubberly and Minden fire departments responded to a request for mutual aid for a fire in District 10, located off Penal Farm Rd. “The property owner said he was working on the other side of the property when he noticed smoke,” Minden Battalion Chief Tommy John Hughes said. “We were able to get the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes and the fire was out about an hour after.” Early today, the fire department was once again dispatched to Winwood Road, this time to a different location.

Hughes reminds area property owners that a burn ban is in effect and that persons violating the ban can be fined a minimum of $500.
