Grant may help local businesses

Local businesses stand to reap the benefits of a federal National Emergency Grant (NEG) through La. Workforce Commission (LWC).

Employers who hire qualifying participants could recoup a percentage of the new employee's training wages.

"We have this federal money and we are trying to get employers some training money," said LWC Business Service Representative Annette Blake. "The more (new employees) are going to train and do, the more hours (the employers) can get reimbursed for."
