Protest set for jailed woman

Friends, family and any interested individuals are asked to support a "peaceful demonstration" on the Homer courthouse lawn Friday to protest the continued imprisonment of a Minden woman.

Mary Nguyen, owner of Mary K Printing on Hwy. 79, was arrested in May, 2007 for criminal mischief and theft over $500.

"I've talked with the parties involved, and I really believe this will be a peaceful protest," said Claiborne Parish Sheriff Ken Bailey. "It's time to do something with this."
