Board approves $300K in requests

Ninety percent of the Webster Parish School Board's agenda items for the first meeting of 2012 were requests for funds at an approximate total of $300,000 for improvements or work to be done at several parish schools.

All items requested are to come from several different funding sources and all requests were unanimously approved with all board members present.

Among the larger amounts requested was a total of $95,939 to come from Doyline Bond Funds with $52,554 to be paid to Nexus Systems, Inc. for internet and network wiring and $43,385 to be paid to DETEL Computer Solutions for SMART Boards with short-throw projectors for classrooms. Both projects are for the new wing being constructed at Doyline High School.
