Council votes to up fines

All Minden residents paying criminal court and traffic fines will have an extra $10 added to their case effective immediately.

Members of the Minden City Council voted unanimously Monday to allow Ward One City Court to impose a $10 service charge.

Joan Luck, Clerk/Court Administrator, said the court should have been charging the fee all along. It was enacted by the Louisiana Legislature in 1999.
