Police: Unregistered sex offender exceeded 100 miles per hour in chase

A Monroe man reportedly driving the wrong way on a one-way street got a one-way ticket to jail after he led local and parish officers on a high-speed chase which ended in Dixie Inn.

Chief of Police Steve Cropper said 17-year-old Trederrius D'Marquis Fields faces a number of traffic charges, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, after attempting to flee from officers.
