Budget awaits Jindal’s signature

The state's new $24.6 billion operating budget sits on Gov. Bobby Jindal's desk awaiting his signature. Rep. Gene Reynolds, D-Minden, said that while it is balanced, he's "not real happy with it."

"We managed to put more money in for higher education, health and hospitals," Reynolds said. "We managed to get the NOW (care money for persons with disabilities) waivers back – the Senate had taken them out but we (House) put them back."
