Warmack found guilty on incest, molestation charges

It took a Webster Parish jury just under an hour and a half to unanimously convict Leland Warmack of aggravated incest of a juvenile under the age of 13 and molestation of a juvenile under the age of 13.

Warmack, a Doyline resident, was arrested in January 2013 after the then 10-year-old victim wrote down some of the things he had allegedly done to her and gave them to her mother. The child's mother went to Doyline Police Chief Robert Hayden who launched an investigation with the help of Webster Parish Sheriff's detective Teresa Rogers.

The verdict was announced late Wednesday afternoon. Afterward, the victim's aunt said the last year and half has been "a terrible tragedy."
