Funeral services for Jeffery Jerome Jenkins, 52, of Minden, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Northwest 14th District Building. Interment will follow at New Hope C.M.E. Cenetery. Family hour and a wake service will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 in the chapel at Benevolent Funeral Home.
Jeffery Jerome Jenkins was born Feb. 24, 1959 to Nora Jean Coleman Jenkins and the late Johnny Lee Jenkins in Minden.
He confessed Christ at an early age and united with New Hope C.M.E. Church of Minden. He loved helping people even though his health was failing him.
On the morning of June 19, 2011, God dispatched his angels to bring him home. He is preceded in death by his father; sister, Karen; grandmother, Mary Coleman; grandfathers, Willie D. Coleman, Sr. and Thurman Jenkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory a wonderful mother, Nora J. Jenkins; two daughters, Lawanna Jenkins of Shreveport and Sharuanta Dixon of Minden; one son, Daruanta Dixon of Minden; five sisters, Sharon Jenkins, Wendy Jenkins, Tammie (Michael) Williams, Teresa (Anthony) Hudson and Kim (Frank) Thomas, all of Minden; three grandchildren, LaJeremy, LaTrevious and Daruanta, Jr.; grandmother, Essie Mae Jenkins of Minden; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
