Funeral services for Tanya Patricia Kirkpatrick, 39, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, Minden with the Rev. Buck E. Furlow officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012).
Tanya was born March 30, 1972 in Shreveport and passed away Jan. 28, 2012 at Minden Medical Center after a long illness. Tanya was a loving mother, sister, daughter and friend. Her son, Caden, was a "miracle baby" and her pride and joy. Tanya loved to cook and garden and never met a stranger. She graduated from Minden High School and worked as an ophthalmic technician before her illness. She was a member of Minden Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Phillip M. Hendry and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil and Rether Kirkpatrick; and aunts, Evelyn Kirkpatrick and Helen Bates.
She is survived by her son, Caden James Twitty; mother, Martha Kirkpatrick of Minden; her son's father, Robert Twitty; father and stepmother, Roger and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick of Homer; brother and sister-in-law, Blaine and Cindy Kirkpatrick of Dallas; sister, Ashley Kirkpatrick of Homer; aunts and uncles, Walter "Buddy" Kirkpatrick (Jane) of Vivian, Glen Kirkpatrick (Joann) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Ethlene Keener of Mansfield, Ohio, Phyllis Hendry of Jacksonville, Florida and Phillip "Buddy" Hendry and wife, Rebekah of Shreveport; nieces and nephews, Carter and Owen Kirkpatrick and Ciara and Marissa Colquitt; and numerous cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Walter Kirkpatrick, Sr, Glen Kirkpatrick, Matthew Hendry, Jonathan Hendry, Roy Neal Wynn and Buddy Hendry.
