New Fire Chief

Dist 7 head steps down; board appoints Williams

For the first time in more than 11 years, Webster Parish Fire District 7 has a new leader.

Fire Chief Mitch Middleton turned over the reins to his deputy chief Brian Williams in November at the district's annual banquet.

"I decided it was time to retire, and I just handed it over to Brian," Middleton said. "I have a good bit of confidence in Brian. I've worked with him for 10 or 11 years and felt like he was the person for the job."
