Woman picks fight with police

Picking a fight with a couple of police officers landed a Minden woman in jail.

Shekita A. Petry, 44, of the 100 block of Country Lane, was arrested for battery on an officer, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of resisting an officer with force or violence.

According to Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper, Petry advanced on Ofc. Danny Turner early Saturday morning after Turner stopped her vehicle.
