Wells was recognized by Debbie Brown, Representative Gene Reynolds Legislative Assistant, for raising awareness of spinal cord injuries. Wells is President of Independence Regained, a private, not for profit advocacy organization that was formed to advocate and raise funds to get a specialized spinal cord and traumatic brain injury rehab and research hospital in north Louisiana.
