Apaches split pair of district games

The Glenbrook Apaches had a dose of good news and a dose of bad this past weekend.

On Friday, the Apaches clinched a MAIS playoff spot with a 5-2 win over Franklin Academy, but on Saturday with the district title on the line, they lost a 5-3 game to Riverfield, knocking them down to the second seed coming out of their district.

"We clinched a playoff spot, and that's what's important," Glenbrook head coach Jonathan Hardy said. "We'll start our playoff series Tuesday at home against Amite, and we hope everyone will come out and support us."
