Members of the Minden City Council have made the next move toward hiring someone who could take the city to the next level in economic development.
In a unanimous vote Monday, council members approved the job description for an economic development director. The next step will be to find the money to fund the individual’s salary, which will start in the $50,000-plus range.
Minden Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) board member and Minden South-Webster Chamber of Commerce president Jerri de Pingre’ told the council that MEDC is prepared to help with that salary by offering $12,000 per year for four years. However, there is one stipulation.
