Things to do fridayFor those opting out of personal fireworks shows, there are several professional shows scheduled around northwest Louisiana Friday night.
Turner's Pond
Lakeview United Methodist Church and George Fithen and Ron Hathorn sponsor the annual fireworks over Turner's Pond. Live music will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by refreshments and fireworks at dark. 
Lake Claiborne
The Claiborne Parish Sheriff's office and Claiborne Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the annual fireworks show at Lake Claiborne. Fireworks will be shot from the dam. Those without a boat can watch the show from the state park. Park entrance fee is $2 per person.
Downtown Shreveport
The 6th annual KTBS 3/KPXJ CW21 Independence Day Festival will be held at the Shreveport Riverfront. The day-long festival culminates with a fireworks show over the Red River at 9:15 p.m. Admission is free.
Muddy Bottoms
Webster Parish's mud park Muddy Bottoms will hold a fireworks show over the park's lake at 9 p.m. Admission to the park ($60 per person at the gate or $55 online) includes the fireworks show and Trace Adkins concert Saturday night.
