Appearances may often be deceiving and unfortunately for a local man, an individual who appeared to be just another drug customer turned out to be someone with connections to law enforcement.
Cordero Miguel Evans, a 26-year-old resident of the 300 block of Evergreen School Road, is facing a variety of drug charges after he allegedly sold a quantity of illegal narcotics Sunday to an individual he did not know was an off-duty police officer, Minden Chief of Police Steve Cropper said.
"Lt. Richard Cooper was visiting friends at an apartment complex on his day off when he was told that a subject at the apartments was attempting to sell pills," Cropper said. "Lt. Cooper was approached by Evans who reportedly offered to sell him some Xanax pills."Subscribe to Read!
