Family dispute leads to burglary charge

Lacey Marie MannSHONGALOO — A confrontation between family members earlier this week at a north Webster Parish residence has landed a Shongaloo woman in the parish prison facing a variety of charges.

Sheriff Gary Sexton said a patrol deputy heard a BOLO issued on a vehicle which reportedly was leaving the scene of a residential burglary on Rodney Martin Road in Shongaloo.

"He observed the described vehicle and made a stop just after 5 o'clock Tuesday," Sexton said. "The owner of the residence was behind the vehicle and identified the suspect as the person who ran from the residence."
Sexton said a search of the vehicle revealed items stolen from the residence, along with CDS Sch. I narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Sexton said 22-year-old Lacey Marie Mann of the 9400 block of La. Hwy. 159 in Shongaloo has been charged with simple burglary, possession of CDS Sch. I, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and no motor vehicle inspection sticker.

Mann reportedly was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center (BDCC).

In a separate incident in Shongaloo, a husband and wife have each been charged with domestic abuse battery after a confrontation became physical Tuesday, Sheriff Gary Sexton said.

Bobby Joe Hall, 41, and Candace Machel Hall, 48, were both booked into BDCC after deputies responding to a domestic disturbance at their home in the 100 block of Hill Top Rd. found evidence of physical violence, Sexton said.

"Our officers found obvious marks on both suspects," Sexton said. "The wife had red marks on her throat and the husband had an obvious mark on his eye."
