Robert Wayne Hollis

HollisRobert Wayne Hollis of Minden was born May 22, 1946. He passed away on May 29, 2014. He was a long time member of the Minden Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden. There will be a short graveside service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Keithville.

Robert graduated from Ruston High School in 1964. He served his country by enlisting in the US Army in 1968. He was stationed at both Fort Walters and Fort Hood in Texas where he received training in aviation operations. He left Fort Hood for a tour of duty in Di-An and Pleiku, South Vietnam. At the time of his discharge from the Army in Fort Jackson, S.C., he had attained the rank of E-5.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brooks and Ollie Hollis, both of Minden.

He is survived by daughter, Debbie Lynn Hollis (husband, Alan Dyson); daughter, Diana Elizabeth Hollis Sanders (husband, Ricky Sanders); son, Douglas Wayne Hollis (wife, Jennifer Ewing Hollis); son, David Byars Hollis (wife, Ashley Scriber Hollis); eight grandchildren, (Chris Buchanan, Joseph Kammer, Thomas Sanders, Lydia Sanders, Jackson Hollis, Jonathan Hollis, Elizabeth Hollis and Kinleigh Hollis); sister, Roz Driver; sister, Judy Steeland; brother, Bill Hollis; brother, Scott Hollis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Romans 8:38-39 "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
