SPRINGHILL — A Springhill officer working Wednesday under the state's seat belt enforcement grant has strapped a drug charge on a Webster Parish man.
Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton said the Springhill detective recognized Timothy Shane Dickey of Cotton Valley as he drove south on U.S. Hwy. 371. Dickey reportedly was the subject of a warrant charging him with distribution of illegal narcotics.
"We had an active warrant on the subject for distribution of methamphetamine," Sexton said. "Agents had made an undercover narcotics purchase from him in Springhill."
Dickey is locked up in Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center under $35,000 bond, Sexton said. He is charged with distribution of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamine) and also has a probation hold.
Sexton said the arresting officers were part of the city of Springhill and Webster Parish Narcotic Division task force.
