Kenneth Wayne Phenix was born to Margaret Phenix on Oct. 21, 1956 in Shreveport.
He confessed Christ at his Saviour at an early age and joined Greater St. Paul Baptist Church under the pastorage of the Rev. R. D. Coleman.
He was a graduate of the Webster High School Class of 1974. Upon graduating from high school, Kenneth joined the United States Army and faithfully served his country.
Kenneth Wayne Phenix departed this earthly life on March 26. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Elijah Phenix Sr.; uncles, Arnold Phenix and Elijah Phenix, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Katelyn Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Margaret Phenix Reliford; grandmother, Lillie Phenix; son, Jaques Mitchell (Alysia); daughter, Lakeitha Mitchell; brother, Charles Phenix; sister, Doris Phenix; three grandchildren, Keantonio Moore, Tyrone Smith Jr. and Christina Mitchell; aunts, Massie Phenix Billard, Serada Phenix Tigner, Ethel Phenix and Shirley Phenix Taylor; uncles, Arthur Phenix and Jimmy Phenix; special cousin and caregiver, Rickey Phenix; special friend, Myrna Moore; social worker that went beyond her job expectations, Lisa Player; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth "Keithville" Phenix will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at the 14th District Building with the Rev. C. O. Bryant, officiating. Interment will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, April 4, in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary.
