An April Fool's Day incident involving a juvenile and a handgun has landed a Webster Parish man in hot water with the law.
Sheriff Gary Sexton said 76-year-old Carlos Jackson Poole has been charged with simple battery on a juvenile, aggravated assault with a firearm and disturbing the peace after deputies responded to a complaint. Poole reportedly lives in the 100 block of Clark Bayou in Doyline.
Sexton said Poole was picking up a friend's 13-year-old child from a parish residence when he began cursing at children. When the child he had come to get ran to another residence, Poole reportedly followed.
When he was approached by an individual to talk about cursing the children, Poole pulled a small hand gun from his car's glove compartment and pointed it at the person, Sexton said.
Sexton said investigators also learned when Poole delivered the juvenile to her home, he grabbed the child by the arm and shook her. Poole reportedly was arrested without incident at his residence. He was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
