The Loch Ness Monster may make an appearance during Saturday's Tartan Day festivities - that is if a kid happens to catch her during the children's fishing tournament.
The first tournament for the event is open to children up to 15 years of age and participation gets them in free.
Registration is at 7:30 a.m. with the first cast at 8 a.m. Kids will have until 10 a.m. to snag the most or biggest fish to win prizes in each of the four age divisions.
Worms are provided by First Baptist Church. Participants are asked to bring their own fishing poles and hooks.
Participants must reel or pull in their own fish, but may have help casting. All fish must be released after an official measure.
Tartan Day will be held at Scotland Farms, located at 180 Hwy. 518 just east of Minden off Homer Road/U.S. 79.
