Funeral services for Mr. M.B. "Browning" Edwards, 93, were held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, in Corner Stone Baptist Church, formerly Cotton Valley Church of Christ, with the Rev. Gene Gibson officiating. Interment followed in Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Cotton Valley.
Visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m., Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home in Cotton Valley.
Mr. Edwards was born July 10, 1920, in Couchwood to Albert P. and Edna Ester Wilson Edwards and passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, in Cotton Valley. He was a native of Couchwood, a former resident of Church Point and a resident of Cotton Valley for the past 27 years. Mr. Edwards was a faithful member of Cotton Valley Church of Christ, was a retired plant operator for Union Texas Petroleum with 27-and-a-half years of service, a U.S. Army Air Corp World War II veteran and a councilman for the Town of Cotton Valley.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene E. Lewis of Cotton Valley; son, Kenneth Wayne Edwards Sr. and wife, Janey of LeCompte; five grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Edwards Jr., Melissa Brady and husband, John, Michael Edwards and wife, Susan, William B. Lewis and David "Scooter" Lewis and wife, Lacey; stepgrandchildren, Ted W. Lewis and wife, Donna, Teresa Cotton and Sandy Edwards; and great-grandchildren, John and Matte Brady, Caylum Lewis and Callie Lewis, Gabrielle and Hayden Lewis, Blaine Cotton and Destany Lily.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 53 years, Mattie Sinclair Edwards, March 9, 1995.
