Although the names are different, the circumstances are similar and a pair of twenty-somethings are now residing at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center charged with crimes involving juveniles following unrelated investigations.
Fredric Washington Jr., a 20-year-old Sibley resident, and 22-year-old Ryan Parker Hiroms of Princeton are each charged with computer aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile, Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton said.
Authorities say both Washington and Hiroms were exchanging sexually explicit messages via the Internet with 14-year-old females.
"Our people are pro-active in investigating activities of this nature," Sexton said. "We had these cases develop separately when our investigators discovered messages being exchanged on a popular website."
Hiroms reportedly told investigators he had been released from jail in January and began an Internet relationship with a female juvenile. Sexton said Hiroms admitted he talked in a sexual nature with the young girl and had planned to meet her.
"Hiroms admitted he knew her age, and told her he would get in trouble if his probation officer ever saw the chats," Sexton said.
Sexton said Washington admitted he had been talking online with an underage female.
"He confessed to sending many vulgar texts of a sexual nature," Sexton said.
