Commitment, pride, dedication and loyalty. I believe that these words best describe my worth ethic for the Minden Press-Herald.
I was first hired in February 1998 as a route carrier. I am still a devoted carrier to all my faithful customers after sixteen years; however, I have added to my duties at the Press. On June 18, 2013, I became the first woman press operator to ever be hired for the Minden Press-Herald.
I love what I do and I really love the physical work that is required to work the press and print the paper. Don't get me wrong, I am still devoted to my faithful customers, but I really wanted a little something more.
Now because I am such a workaholic, being a press operator keeps me quite busy. Not many women can do this job. It requires a lot of strength and loads of patience. But all it took for me is the love of my job and the determination to do what it takes.
I've learned so much in such a short amount of time. This is all thanks to the wonderful guys I work with. But everyone at the Minden Press-Herald are great people to work with. They are like my second family.
To all my valued customers and to everyone at the Minden Press, I give you many thanks and hope to continue to serve you in the many years to come. I am forever blessed and grateful.
