A Minden man is in jail for allegedly entering his ex-girlfriend's house uninvited and smashing her television set.
Jimmy Renard Shine, 23, of the 500 block of South Street, is charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and resisting an officer.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said officers were called to a location on Columbia Street after Shine allegedly forced his way through a locked screen door.
"The female subject fled to a bedroom with her child and locked the door," Cropper said. "When officers arrived, Shine was still inside the residence where he had unhooked a TV and was trying to walk out the back door with it."
When officers tried to stop Shine, he reportedly threw the television down and fled through the back door. According to Cropper, Lt. Wayne Young, Off. Jesse Cutrer and Ofc. Shawn Jenkins pursued Shine on foot.
"Shine ran into his sister's apartment on Cherry Street, and officers located him there in the attic," the chief said.
Shine was booked at the Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. According to reports, Shine's criminal history includes two prior unauthorized entry charges within the past five years.
