If the weather turns bad Wednesday, the City of Minden is prepared.
Mayor Tommy Davis said he met with the Public Works Department Monday in anticipation of ice or sleet accumulations.
"Our number one concern is trying to keep everybody with power," Davis said. "If we do have problems, we will be able to get on that quickly."
The street department is also geared up with sand for icy patches.
"We don't have the equipment or sand to do every street in town, but we will certainly keep the main streets sanded, as
well as hills and bridges," Davis said.
All crews rotate their on-call status, he said.
"Everybody knows who's on call every week," Davis said. "Our employees realize what an emergency is, and they respond well to that. They are always willing to come out and help, even when they are not on call."
