HOMER—The Lakeside Warriors dropped a close one Friday night, 62-56, to Homer.
It was a good game, close all the way," Lakeside coach Jason Gould said. "We just couldn't put the ball in the basket enough."
Lakeside jumped out to an 8-0 advantage after the tip, but Homer came back to cut the lead to 16-15 by the end of the quarter. Homer led 31-28 at the half, and then out-scored the Warriors by three in the third and by one in the fourth quarter.
"Our inside guys struggled a little more than they have in the past," Gould said. "Homer's big guy made it difficult for us. He blocked several shots and made us change our shots."
Davion Whiting led the Warriors with 22 points, including six three-pointers. Maurice Moore scored 14 and Lance Williams added 11.
Weather permitting, Lakeside will host Calvary on Tuesday, with the girls game starting at 5 p.m. and the boys tipping off at 6:30 p.m.
