As part of efforts to strengthen local businesses, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce is offering members an opportunity to learn to lead.
Best-selling author and speaker Glenn Shepard will present a half-day seminar "How to Supervise People and Lead a Team" from 8:30 a.m. until noon, Tuesday, February 18, at the Minden Community House.
Shepard's seminar is based on one of his books, "How to Manage a Problem Employee."
"What sets 'superstar' managers apart is a couple of absolutely essential things," Shepard said. "They've learned how to turn every employee into an asset... and they've learned how to turn all their people into an enthusiastic, committed, well-led team."
According to chamber president Jerri de Pingre', tuition may run as high as $1,200 for many of Shepard's seminars.
Chamber members may attend the event for $129 per person; non-chamber member tuition is $149. When three or more enroll, the fourth person attends free.
"Glenn will be available after the program to answer any questions that you and your employees may have," de Pingre' said. "He will also be giving away a lot of freebies at the event."
A registration form must be completed and turned into the chamber office by February 17. Call de Pingre' at 377-4240 to enroll.
