COUSHATTA — The Lakeside Warriors pulled out a 59-48 win over Red River Tuesday night.
"It was a close game most of the way," Lakeside head coach Jason Gould said. "We led 19-15 after the first quarter and they out-scored us 16-14 in the second."
It was back-and-forth for the first three quarters.
"We controlled the game for the most part," Gould said. "We would go up eight or nine points, and then they would go on a run and cut it two or tie it up. But then we would came back and go ahead again."
The Warriors took over in the fourth quarter.
"We finally put the game away in the fourth quarter," Gould said. "We should have put it away earlier, but we turned up our defense and got the win." Frankie Miles led the Warriors with 23 points and Maurice Moore added 17. Jamarion Teal scored 13.
"Frankie had a career night for us," Gould said. "He played really well. Now we have to get ready for Homer Friday night."
