The Minden St. Jude Auction has raised almost as much in the past four years as it has in the previous 33 for the Memphis, Tenn.-based children's cancer research hospital.
Since the auction's inception in 1976, the annual fundraiser has raked in more than $10.4 million – nearly $4 million of that since 2010.
"It gets in your blood," former auction chairman Mike Harper said. "It's fun and it's obviously worthwhile. I refer to it as Minden's festival - it's our Holiday in Dixie, Zwolle Tamale, Ruston Peach Festival. St. Jude is our deal."Subscribe to Read!
