Terry Gardner and TG Companies LLC is leading the community into 2014 as the new Chamber Champion.
Greg Lee, serving as master of ceremonies, made the announcement Tuesday at the conclusion of the annual chamber membership banquet.
Gardner's company follows Town & Country Health and Rehab Center as the Chamber Champion for 2013.
Dan Gibson, as outgoing chairman of the board, said while he is ready to turn over his gavel, it has been a good year.
"The TRC (Total Resources Campaign) allowed us to expand the range of folks we had in the chamber," Gibson said. "We have 26 new members, but members that were not very involved got more involved through TRC."
Gibson said he is proud he was on the search team that hired Jerri de Pingre', current president of the chamber.
"As my legacy, bringing in Jerri is probably the thing I am most proud of," he said.
Jim Williams, chief financial officer at Minden Medical Center, will fill Gibson's shoes for 2014.
"We plan to build on the momentum we had from 2012 and 2013," Williams said. "I hope I can do a good job at that."
De Pingre' introduced other chamber awards for the year, including Small Business of the Year, Karen Lewis Cleaning; Business of the Year, Reynolds Industrial Contracting; Businessperson of the Year, Richard and Joyce Carey; Community Partner, MAR-C Industries; and Lifetime Achievement Award, Howard Spillers.
Title sponsor for the annual Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce Banquet was Gibsland Bank & Trust and dinner was catered by Party Express and served by the Minden High School Louisi-Annes.
