Funeral services for Mrs. Earline Berryhill Edwards, 83, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at First United Pentecostal Church, Cotton Valley, with the Rev. Kenneth DeHart officiating. Interment will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery, Couchwood under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at First United Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley.
Mrs. Edwards was born April 28, 1930, in Clinton, Miss. to Matthew Poole and Carmel Chamlee Berryhill and passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, in Minden. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Cotton Valley and a homemaker. Mrs. Edwards was also a caregiver and sitter for others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Russell Edwards and wife, Diana of Couchwood; daughters, Claire Elaine Edwards of Cotton Valley and Leslie Renee Prestridge and husband, Charles of Evergreen; sister, Sharlette Greer; brothers, Tommy Berryhill and Matthew Berryhill; stepmother, Ada Mae Morris, all of Petal, Mississippi; granddaughter, Tanyua Allen and husband, Rodney; stepgrandsons, William Cedric Hammett and Joshua James Hammett; great-granddaughters, Destiny Nicole Smith and Andra Rose Smith; stepgreat-grandchildren, Landon Allen, Austin Jacob Hammett, Rebekah Lynn Hammett, Isaac James Hammett, Joseph Ross Hammett and Cedric Lee Hammett; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Earl "Papa" Edwards on July 20, 2013 and brother, Danny Berryhill.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Flowers, Joshua Hammett, Isaac Hammett, Cody Wallace, Shane Prestridge and William Hammett.
