Used coats sought

As the colder weather creeps in, the Minden Press-Herald wants to pay-it-forward by sponsoring a Coat Drive in partnership with Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry to benefit the United Christian Assistance Program and needy individuals in the area.

"It's important that we help those in need," said Publisher Josh Beavers of the Minden Press-Herald. "Anyone who has stepped outside over the past few days knows how cold it is this winter. If the Press-Herald can help keep just one person warm then we'll be making a small, but important difference."

Gently used, clean coats and jackets of all sizes, especially those for children and youth, can be dropped off at Minden Press-Herald between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday until Friday, January 3.

"I know y'all have all given so much but this time it is for a different cause," said Jessica Lewis, director of Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry. "Minden has been a huge blessing to our pantry and we want to make sure the love is spread to other ministries in town."
