The Lakeside Warriors earned a much needed win in a Monday night tilt against Ringgold.
The final score was 55-52 as the Warriors took their second win of the year.
"It was a big game, and the crowd was in it with us," Lakeside coach Jason Gould said. "We did a good job hanging tough and fought through mistakes. We keep learning from those mistakes to make ourselves better."
The score at the half was tied at 24.
"It was a back and forth, good, typical Lakeside-Ringgold rivalry game," Gould said. "We outscored them by three in the third which was the difference because we tied in the fourth."
Davion Whiting was the leading scorer for Lakeside as he dropped in 14 points. Maurice Moore had 12 points, all in the second half. "Davion was a good consistent scorer throughout the game," Gould said. "And Maurice scored all of his points in the second half. We challenged him at halftime and he responded."
Other contributors for Lakeside included Jamarion Teal with seven points and 17 important rebounds. Lance Williams hit some big free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
"It was an all around team effort with everyone contributing," Gould said.
Next up for the Warriors is a 7:30 p.m. game against Loyola in the Minden Holiday Classic. The game is slated to be held at Webster Junior High.
