BASTROP—The Glenbrook basketball teams played Wednesday in the Prairie View Academy Tournament in Bastrop. The Apaches beat Claiborne Academy, 66-60, while the Lady Apaches fell to C.A., 53-24.
Aurthur Jones led the Apaches with 20 points and Regan Edwards dropped in 15. Cade Morgan scored 12 points and Caden Copeland scored eight.
Edwards hit four-straight free throws late in the game to seal the win.
"We finally started playing team basketball on both ends of the floor," Apache coach Jeff Dalton said. "If we keep improving we will have a chance to be pretty good."
The Lady Apaches fell behind Claiborne early and couldn't come back, losing 53-24.
Carsin Spurlock led the Lady Apaches with 16 points and Hannah Harris scored four. Olivia Dalton scored three points and Macie Branch added one.
"CA is always a tough game," Lady Apache coach Rendi Ward said. "They are a good team. The girls gave a good effort they just could not hang on. We are looking forward to our game on Friday against Franklin."
The Apaches will play Tensas today at 4:30 p.m. and the Lady Apaches will play Franklin Friday at 6 p.m.
