SIBLEY — The Minden Crimson Tide and Lakeside Warriors met Tuesday night at Lakeside, and the Tide came away with a 78-60 win.
The game was close through the first three quarters before Minden put the game away in the fourth, out-scoring Lakeside, 27-19.
"We had a lot of energy early," Lakeside head coach Jason Gould said. "As we got tired, our turnovers went up and our defensive intensity went down. That's on me as a coach, it's my responsibility to get them more prepared."
The Tide led 21-17 at the end of the first quarter and 33-26 at the half. The Tide extended its lead to 51-41 going into the fourth.
"Minden is just a really good shooting team and they have a lot of weapons," Gould said. "We have to work really, really hard to match them. We just wore down."
Kevin Hamilton led the Tide with 26 points and C.J. Elkins added 19. Louis Moore scored 12 points and Anfernee Red added 11.
Davion Whiting led Lakeside with 19 points and Jamarion Teal scored nine and pulled down eight rebounds. Maurice Moore scored 10.
These two teams will meet again Thursday in the first round of the Haughton Tournament. Game time will be 5:30 p.m. at Haughton High School.
