Basketball season revs up

With all the Webster Parish football teams being knocked out of their respective playoffs, the schools' basketball teams are now taking center stage.

All five schools are in action this week with home games, away games and tournament action.

Here's a brief look at who and where are parish teams play this week.

Minden High

The Minden High Crimson Tide and Lady Tiders will head to Sibley tonight to take on Lakeside High School in three games. The jv boys will begin the night at 5 p.m. with the varsity girls and varsity boys to follow.

The rest of the week the two teams will take part in the Haughton Tournament at Haughton High School.


The Doyline Panthers and Lady Panthers will look to continue their hot start to the season with three home games against Stanley High School tonight.

The jv boys will tip things off at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity girls and varsity boys games.


The Lakeside Warriors and Lady Warriors will host Minden High School in three games tonight, beginning with the jv boys game tipping off at 5 p.m.

The girls' varsity game will follow and the boys' varsity game will cap off the night.

The rest of the week will be spent at the Haughton Tournament.

North Webster

The North Webster Knights and Lady Knights will have a busy week this week. Tonight, both teams will host the Loyola College Prep Flyers and Lady Flyers beginning at 6 p.m.

Starting Thursday, both teams will travel to Farmerville to take part in the Union Parish Tournament.


The Glenbrook Apaches and Lady Apaches will travel to Mt. Olive Thursday for junior varsity boys and girls games, as well as varsity boys and girls games.

On Saturday, the varsity teams will travel to Ruston to take part in the Bethel Tournament.
