Simpson - Hollingsworth United in Marriage


Morgan Dianne Simpson and Logan Anderson Hollingsworth were united in marriage at six in the evening on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Wildwood Resort on Toledo Bend Lake. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Ray Anderson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brett Simpson of Homer. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Poland and Mr. Derrell Spurlock, all of Arcadia, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Simpson of Homer.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hollingsworth of Minden. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ann Woodruff of Conway, Ark., and the late Preston Woodruff, Dr. and Mrs. Ben Cabell of Minden, and Mrs. Dorothy Hollingsworth of Minden, and the late Ingus Hollingsworth.

The ceremony took place on a spacious outdoor deck overlooking a pond with a large water fountain that served as a beautiful backdrop.

Floral décor for the ceremony and reception was created by Mandy Cathey who also served as wedding coordinator.

Following the ceremony, family and friends dined on food provided by Wildwood Resort and danced to music by Henry Reggans and The Sidemen Band. The bride's cake and groom's cake were designed by Debbie Griffin and photography was provided by Kelly Cathey.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore Melissa Sweet's Pippa gown in ivory.

The strapless gown with a mermaid silhouette shimmered with iridescent sequins and was accented by delicately placed flowers.

The matching cathedral Pippa veil completed the ensemble. She carried a bouquet of white roses, blush dahlias, and white hydrangeas with porcelina spray roses and gardenias that were adorned with family brooches.

Chaise Simpson and Kameron Simpson of Homer, sisters of the bride, served as Maids of Honor.

Bridesmaids included sister of the groom, Ashley Hollingsworth, Alyssa Hollingsworth, both of Minden, Carli Kostan of Texas City, Texas, Hailey Bass of Homer, Lainey Walker of Taylor, and Susanna Watson of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Gary Hollingsworth of Minden, father of the groom, served as Best Man.

Groomsmen were Riley Hollingsworth, Colton Spurlock, both of Minden, Shelby Wise of Shreveport, Michael Ratcliff of Alexandria, Mackenzie Warren of Heflin, Adam Walker of Taylor, and Jake Byrd of Benton.

Emerson Gantt, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, and Darron Hollingsworth, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Morgan is a graduate of Claiborne Academy and Louisiana Tech University. She will graduate in August 2014 from Louisiana Tech University with a Master's degree in teaching.

She is currently employed with Glenbrook School in Minden.

Logan is a graduate of Glenbrook School. He received a degree in Construction Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and is employed with Hollingsworth Construction Company in Minden.

The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia before returning to Minden, where they will be residing.
