Funeral services celebrating the life of Jacie Lee Aubrey Scott will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at St. Rest Baptist Church, 611 East Union Street, Minden. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Homer, Rev. Samuel Bradley, Pastor.
It was Thursday evening, Oct. 24, 2013, when a chariot of Angels appeared by her bedside and no doubt whispered these words "Jacie, you have fought a long, courageous, and hard fight; you must be tired; but you have kept the faith -come with us where there will be sweet peace, continued rest, no pains, nor suffering."
At this moment and being obedient, she stretched her hand with faith, and slowly departed and left within her web of her immediate family, five caring sons, John E. Scott (Myrtis), Grandview, Missouri, Willie R. Scott (Johnnie), Centreville, Illinois, Charles D. Scott, Monroe, Lester D. Scott (Melanie) Gladstone, Missouri and Mack D. Scott (Monica), Dallas, Texas; one godson Marcel Vandenoord (Carla) Minden; three wonderful daughters, Catherine Storey (Leroy), Inglewood, California, Marga Miranda (Richard) Edmond, Oklahoma and Sueletha Frazier, Minden; and one brother, Lee Aubrey, Los Angeles, California. She also leaves 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will be today (Friday, Nov. 1, 2013) from 3 p.m. until closing at Memorial Funeral Home, 4043 Hwy. 79, Homer.
