SIBLEY — The Lakeside Warriors improved to 4-1 with a big 39-13 win over Arcadia Friday night at lakeside.
"I thought we did well," Warrior head coach Joey Pestles said. "The kids played great and it all turned out well."
The Warriors' defense played well, holding Arcadia to just 13 points and the special teams also performed well, as they scored three touchdowns.
"Defense and special teams did a great job," Pestles said. "For the third week in a row, we didn't get many plays on offense. Last week we scored on a lot of long plays that limited our drives, and this week, we scored on special teams."
Chris Lewis turned in a big night as he returned a kick-off for a touchdown, a punt for a touchdown and ran for a touchdown. Maurice Moore also had a punt return touchdown and Thomas Lambert also scored.
"Chris played really well," Pestles said. "He probably could have scored more, but we only played him into the third quarter before we took him out."
Being 4-1 at this point of the season has the Warriors sitting pretty well, but Pestles doesn't want his team to forget about what's ahead.
"They kids were great, they were so excited about the win," Pestles said. "We told them to enjoy the moment, but starting Monday we have to get back to work for the next one."
Lakeside will host Red River this Friday night. The Bulldogs are 4-1 including a 15-14 win over Green Oaks last week.
"I know Red River is very athletic and fast," Pestles said. "Green Oaks had them down 14-0 and they came back to win. We're going to have our hands full."
