A look at Friday night’s football games

9-18 GB

The high school football season is in full swing and will continue this week.

All four Webster Parish high school teams pulled off big wins last week and will look to continue that trend this week.

Minden and North Webster will be at home, while Glenbrook and Lakeside will hit the road.

Minden High

The Minden Crimson Tide beat Bolton, 21-0, last week to earn head coach Spencer Heard his first win as Minden's head coach. This week, the Tide will try to give him his first winning streak.

The Tide (1-1) will welcome in the 2-0 Haughton Buccaneers. Haughton beat Benton 52-14 last week and Woodlawn, 49-8, in week one.

The Tide defense will have to step up this week.

The Glenbrook Apaches evened their record at 2-2 with a Homecoming win over Cenla Christian Academy last week. The Apaches will head to Baton Rouge this week as they take on the

Central Private Rebels.

The Apaches' offense totaled 359 yards against Cenla, 245 yards rushing and 114 yards passing.

For the second year in a row, the Lakeside Warriors are 2-0 after the first two weeks of the season. Last year, after a 2-0 start a year ago, the Warriors only won more game the rest of the year.

Lakeside aims to change that this season.

This week the Warriors will travel to Natchitoches to take on Northwood-Lena.

North Webster

The North Webster Knights bounced back from a season-opening loss to beat Homer last week.

This week, the Knights will host Natchitoches-Central in their first home game of the season. The Chiefs are 1-1 this year, losing 28-19 to DeRidder last week.
