Graveside services for Charles B. Hicks were held today (Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013) at 1 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Officiating was Rev. Buster Bailey.
Charles was born Jan. 10, 1917 to James and Dovie Hicks in Shreveport and entered into rest Sept. 14, 2013 in Doyline. Charles was a World War II veteran with the United States Army. He was a crop duster when he was young and later became a flight instructor at Southern Aviation.
His brother, J. B. Hicks and stepson, Haydn Hicks preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Kitty Mann and husband, John of Doyline; grandchildren, Keeth Wren and Danessa Morgan of Doyline, Kyle Wren of Doyline and Melissa Frazier of Doyline; great-grandchildren, Marlena Wren, Cole Frazier, Hilaree Olson and Chase Salter; and life-long friend Herman Reyenga.
