A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, with Pastor Richard Methvin of Eastside Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Betty was born May 6, 1942 and went to be with her heavenly father Sept. 1, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Rose Martin; sisters, Martha Breaux and Polly Mitchell; and son-in-law, John E. Walker, III.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bill Wroten; her daughter, Sandra Walker of Haughton; and her son, Terry Wroten and wife, Jody of Princeton; her grandchildren, Stacey Whitley and husband, William, Wendy Roop and husband, Daniel, Aaron Larned and Tanner Wroten; and great-grandsons, Carson and Brock Whitley and Brayden Larned; her sister, Lois Guidory and family of Sulphur, Mary Richard and family of Iowa and Glenda Richard and family of Sulphur; brothers, Leo Martin, Jr. and family of Sulphur, and Bobby Martin and family of LaVergne, Tennessee; her brother-in-law, Ray Breaux and family of DeQuincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Tanner Wroten, Ricky Berkmeyer, James Richard, Gerald Richard, Kenneth Keen and Aubrey Hadwin.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Town and Country Nursing Home for all the care, support and guidance during Betty's illness.
