Local author publishes book; holding signing

Local author and Evangelist Jason Thompson will have a book reading and signing of his book 'The Chronicles of the King'from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 10 at the Webster Parish Library.

The book follows the story of a man in a Roman prison, knowing that his time is coming to an end, decides to share his story with two fellow prisoners, Paul and Silas. His story begins with an ancient oath made by a great and powerful king, to protect a child told of in legend; a child that would one day be the King above all kings.

"Growing up, my father was a Baptist pastor and he taught me to love God. My mother taught me to work hard and both traits contributed to the writing of my new series 'The Chronicles of The King'." Thompson said. "As a kid, I loved to read. When I picked up a book I would dissolve myself into its pages, and for just a short while I wasn't a boring kid, I was a warrior, a ninja, a king and even a football star."

Thompson, 35, and his wife, Haley have two kids, Colin and Kenley.

"I truly hope that you enjoy book one of my series, 'The Child King'." Thompson said.
