Help wanted and received in Heflin

The Village of Heflin required services with cleaning around town. When Heflin hosted their annual festival it was suggested they use Camp Minden's Youth Challenge Program Cadets for the event.

"We were delighted at how hard the boys worked and they were also extremely polite," said Mayor Judy Tillman. "We were informed that the female cadets needed to help in communites, also. Each cadet, male and female, is required to complete a certain number of community service hours in order to graduate from the program.

"Alderman Catherine Lee scheduled the female cadets to come clean the town hall, civic center and fire station. The cadets did an excellent job of cleaning. Police Chief Paul Migues even got them to wash his squad car. The firetrucks were spotless when the cadets finished."

The Mayor, Aldermen and the Chief of Police were impressed with the work the cadets did. They would like to give a big thank you to them.
