AA Continentals head to World Series


The AA Minden Continentals recently placed third in the AA State Tournament in Ville Platte and will now head to West Monroe to play in the Dixie World Series.

In the State Tournament, the Continentals went undefeated in pool play by scoring 77 runs scored and allowing just 11 runs in five games.

The Continentals beat the Shreveport Americans, 13-0, in bracket play and then lost to the Shreveport Nationals, 6-3. Bossier beat Minden, 7-3, in semi final game.

The Continentals will represent Louisiana as the #3 seed and will play the #1 seed from Texas at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

All four Louisiana teams in the World Series came from Minden's district: #1 seed Shreveport Nationals, #2 Bossier, #3 Minden and #4 seed Haughton.

The Minden Continentals are raising money to pay for their trip to the World Series. If you want to help the team, please contact one of the players or coaches.

Players are Maddox Mandino, Jake Wilkins, Dayton Sims, C.J. Watts, Than Latour, Cason Clemons, Chase Hammons, Landry Powell, Chase Tolbert, Bryce Powell, Brandon Winston and Cooper Chase.

Coaches are Tim Clemons, Len Wilkins, Buddy Sims and Wesley Mandino
