We always knew the day would come when Dad would leave office. This was to be his last term as Mayor and then would come retirement. Sadly, retirement came early. Thursday morning, June 27, 2013, our lives were dramatically changed.
Dad left us suddenly and peacefully that morning leaving behind a wife, two daughters, a son, family, friends and a community in which he dedicated his life. The void he left in our family will forever be unmatched but the devotion and love he had for all of us will always be remembered.
It's hard to express the gratitude in words we feel towards our friends, the people of Minden and the surrounding area. We've been in awe by the outpouring of love and concern over the last few days and moved to tears by the number of people that honored Dad during this time.
We sincerely appreciate all the prayers, phone calls, food, words of comfort and expressions of love and support. Dad always said he felt blessed to live in Minden because Minden has always been good to him and his family.
Truly we are blessed to live in such a wonderful city.
Thank you for all you've done for us during this time of grief and all the support throughout the years while Dad sought and held public office. May God bless all of you and the wonderful City of Minden.
